On Saturday, August 9, we welcomed students from Seoul National University (SNU) for the second consecutive year to launch the 2025 SNU Summer Corps Program in Peru, a social responsibility initiative organized by SNU Social Responsibility (SNUSR) in collaboration with the NGO Medipeace.
Through its Social Responsibility Office, SNU aims to strengthen its students’ commitment to global citizenship and foster the development of values oriented toward sustainability. For several years, during their summer or winter breaks, SNU students and administrative staff have visited partner institutions in different countries to share knowledge and carry out social responsibility activities that contribute to local development.
In 2025, SNU has once again chosen the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) as a strategic partner to implement this program. A total of 30 students —15 from SNU and 15 from PUCP— will work over nine days on health-related educational activities in two schools in San Martín de Porres, which they have been jointly designing remotely since June.
The PUCP delegation is composed of students from Performing Arts, Management, Psychology, Engineering, Political Science, Graphic Design, and Communications, who will share accommodation, work sessions, and cultural activities with their Korean peers, strengthening intercultural learning and commitment to sustainable human development.
This collaboration aligns with our institutional commitment to addressing the challenges of Sustainable Human Development (SHD) in the country while diversifying opportunities for internationalization at home.
Through the Academic Office of Institutional Relations (DARI), we are pleased to continue fostering spaces for intercultural exchange and encounter, as well as opportunities to develop key competencies and international networks.
