As part of its commitment to internationalization and the strengthening of academic ties with Asia, Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) once again received representatives from the University of Tsukuba (UT), Japan. This visit gives continuity to the inter-institutional relationship established many years ago with this important Japanese university.
The delegation from the University of Tsukuba was composed of Dr. Mizuho Fukushige, Director of the South American Office of the Institute of Medicine, and Ms. Yuki Tagawa, Head of International Planning. During the meeting, the delegation was thanked for their frequent visits to PUCP, which reflects their great interest in continuing to strengthen ties with our university.
One of the highlights of the meeting was Dr. Fukushige’s proposal to share the results of the activities developed within the framework of the Study in Japan 2024 program, as well as to present the actions planned for this year, particularly in November. PUCP was invited to actively participate in these initiatives, which opens new opportunities for collaboration in terms of mobility and academic exchange, especially student exchange.
On behalf of PUCP, representatives of the Academic Office of Institutional Affairs (DARI) participated: Dr. Alberto Ferrand, head of the Institutional Relations Development Office; Mr. Ruben Tang, head of the Asian Relations Office; Ms. Claudia Valdivieso, head of the Student Mobility Section; and Mr. Juan Paz, DARI´s assistant.
This meeting reaffirms PUCP’s commitment to the consolidation of strategic alliances and the promotion of an open, pluralistic and international academic space.
