During the session, both universities reaffirmed their interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation through concrete initiatives. The MOU will be the basis for initiating academic exchanges of students and professors, the development of joint research projects, and the co-design of virtual or hybrid courses with a cross-cultural and technological focus. Particular emphasis was given to student mobility in STEM areas (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and management, as well as collaboration in applied research in materials science, sustainability and advanced chemistry.
The role of the PUCP Confucius Institute was also highlighted as a key player in strengthening academic and cultural ties between the two institutions, and avenues for sustained cooperation were explored in the context of the growing dynamism of the relationship between China and Latin America.
This meeting and the signing of the agreement mark a milestone in PUCP’s internationalization process, in line with its strategy of linking with universities in the Asia-Pacific region. Both parties agreed on the importance of consolidating a long-term alliance that contributes to train global professionals and generate knowledge with international impact.
Finally, as part of the agenda of the visit, the ECUST delegation visited several laboratories of the university where they shared advances in research and development that could be part of future collaborations between both institutions.
