With nine alumni selected, PUCP is the university with the largest number of Erasmus Mundus scholarship recipients in the country.

On Wednesday, August 13, the pre-departure ceremony was held for Peruvian alumni who have been awarded the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s (EMJM) scholarship, granted by the European Union, to pursue joint master’s programs at universities across different European countries.

The EMJM program offers around 150 master’s degrees in various fields of knowledge and allows participants to study at least at two European universities. This year, with 36 scholarships awarded, Peru ranks as the fourth Latin American country with the most Erasmus Mundus grantees. Since 2014, more than 200 Peruvian students have benefited from this program, which covers tuition fees, travel expenses, health insurance, visa procedures, and provides a monthly stipend to support their stay in Europe.

This year’s ceremony focused on hearing the testimonies of the new scholarship recipients from different universities in the country, who shared their expectations and previous experiences. Afterwards, representatives of the embassies of the European Union Member States—home to the universities where the grantees will be studying—offered their congratulations and recommendations to make the most of this academic and cultural opportunity.

From PUCP, nine alumni were selected to pursue the following master’s programs:

  • Ana Lucía Manrique De La Torre Ugarte: Erasmus Mundus Master in Impact Entrepreneurship

  • Brenda Toledo Aserjo: Erasmus Mundus Joint Master on Climate Change and Diversity: Sustainable Territorial Development (CCD-STeDe)

  • Carla Anaís Mendoza Escobedo: International Master on Wine Tourism Transitions and Innovations

  • Fiorella Solansh Carhuancho Quijada: Responseable Futures: A European Joint Master’s in Design and Care, and International Master’s in Advanced Research in Criminology

  • Jorge Manuel Quispe Díaz: Sustainable Information Technologies for Societies Joint Master’s

  • María Luisa Fernanda Rispa Hoyos: International Master’s in Advanced Research in Criminology

  • Pierol Salvador Quispe Sánchez: Euro-Asian Joint Master Programme in Medical Technology and Healthcare Business

  • Melany Koral Soto Carrión: Intelligent Photonics for Security Reliability Sustainability and Safety

  • Wendy Fiorella Adrianzen Rossi: Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Public Sector Innovation and e-Governance

This recognition reflects our strong commitment to internationalization as a way to strengthen academic excellence at PUCP, as well as the dedication and quality of our students. We warmly congratulate our alumni for this outstanding achievement and wish them the greatest success. We will continue to encourage more members of our community to access international opportunities that can transform their lives and professional careers.
