Last week, our University received a visit from David Le Breton, a prominent French sociologist and professor at the University of Strasbourg, as part of the “Financial Support for Visits by French Professors” program, promoted by the Academic Office of Institutional Affairs (DARI).

During his visit, Professor Le Breton gave the keynote address “Body, Emotions, and Experiences,” which was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Fanni Muñoz, as well as students, faculty, and members of the university community. This activity is part of the program’s objectives, which seek to strengthen undergraduate and graduate academic programs through complementary courses, seminars, workshops, conferences, and other academic activities led by visiting specialists.

Professor Le Breton’s visit was arranged by José Luis Rosales, Academic Secretary of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Professor Diana Safra. In his presentation, the sociologist not only shared his reflections on contemporary society but also presented his book, “The End of Conversation? The Word in a Spectral Society,” creating a space for reflection and dialogue with the attendees.

At DARI, we reaffirm our commitment to academic internationalization by facilitating visits from international specialists who contribute to strengthening academic training at our University.
