PUCP signs Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Changwon National University of South Korea

On September 14, the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) held a meeting with Changwon National University of South Korea. The meeting was organized by the Office of Institutional Affairs (DARI), through its Asia Relations office, in coordination with the University’s Protocol office.

The meeting aimed to explore areas of cooperation between both institutions and establish the foundations for future joint projects. As part of the meeting, the two universities also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

One of the main areas of interest was Changwon National University’s experience in the development of science and technology parks, an area in which it has specialists such as Prof. Minwon Park. Through this partnership, the institutions hope to initiate collaboration that will contribute to the development of PUCP’s science and technology park.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Julio del Valle, President of PUCP; Dr. María Antonieta Delgado, Director of the Academic Directorate of Institutional Relations; Mr. Alberto Ferránd, Head of the International Development Office; Mr. Óscar Miranda, Director of the Academic Directorate of Economics; Mr. Rolf Grieseler, Director of Academic Relations at the Faculty of Science and Engineering; Dr. Ricardo Sumalavia, Director of the Center for Oriental Studies; Mr. Rubén Tang, Head of the Asia Relations Office; Mr. César Miranda, Coordinator of the Asia Relations Office; Mr. Juan Paz, Assistant at the Asia Relations Office; and Dr. Julio Cáceda, Advisor to the President.

Representing Changwon National University were Prof. Minwon Park, President; Prof. Jongkyu Park, Vice President; Prof. Taeshik Kim, Dean of the Office of International Affairs; Ms. Yunhee Seo, Head of the International Affairs Office Team; Mr. Sukhoon Hong, Director of the Gyeongnam International Development Cooperation Corps; and Mr. Chunghee Lee, Director of Administration at the Gyeongnam International Development Cooperation Center. Mr. Cristian Tataje Rojas, Assistant in the Culture, Sports and Education area at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, was also present.

The signing of the MOU marks the addition of Changwon National University to the network of Asian universities with which PUCP maintains relations. This new partnership is also expected to pave the way for academic exchanges between both institutions.

Through the organization of meetings of this kind, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening our with higher education institutions in Asia and creating new opportunities for academic cooperation.
