Two students from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) have been selected to participate in the Shanghai Summer School 2026: International Chinese Language Education for Global South Countries, an on-site program organized by Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) and funded by the Shanghai Municipal Government.

This four-week program aims to strengthen the academic development of students from Global South countries through Chinese language courses, cultural activities and field visits that foster academic and intercultural exchange.

On July 17, Ximena Antonella Gálvez Ghiggo and Gonzalo Fabián Aarón Pingo Gaitán, both from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, attended a pre-departure orientation session organized by the Asia Relations Office of Office of the Academic Office of Institutional Affairs, as part of their preparation for traveling to China.

The session, led by Rubén Tang, Head of the Asia Relations Office, aimed to provide the students with all the essential information before traveling to China. During the meeting, practical topics related to the trip were covered, including immigration procedures, airport transit and key recommendations for their arrival in the country.

These sessions are part of the support PUCP provides to students participating in international mobility programs, ensuring they begin their experience safely and well informed. In addition, the Asia Relations Office provides ongoing support throughout their stay abroad, offering guidance and assistance should any issues arise.

Through initiatives like this, PUCP reaffirms its commitment to internationalization and to providing comprehensive support for its students by promoting international learning opportunities and strengthening their ability to thrive in global environments.
