At a recent certificate award ceremony, the recipients of scholarships granted by the Government of South Korea through the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) and CIAT programs of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) were recognized. This year, a total of 13 scholarships were awarded, three of which were obtained by outstanding alumnae of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) 페루 가톨릭 대학교.

Through the GKS program, Ibet Machuca Narro, a graduate of the Physics program from the School of Science and Engineering, will pursue a Master’s degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) 포항공과대학교, South Korea’s first university exclusively focused on research and a global leader in science and engineering.

Meanwhile, under KOICA’s CIAT program, Stacy Ramírez Wong, a graduate of the School of Law, will pursue a Master’s degree in Public Management and Administrative Reform at Seoul National University (SNU) 서울대학교, considered the country’s most prestigious university. Likewise, Jimena Limay Castillo, a graduate in Political Science and Government from the School of Social Sciences, will begin a Master’s degree in Global Health Security at Yonsei University (YSU) 연세대학교, also recognized as one of South Korea’s top academic institutions.

“I am very happy and proud of this achievement by our alumnae and I am sure that all three will do very well in their studies during their stay in Korea. For our part, we will continue to work even harder so that more PUCP graduates can pursue higher studies at prestigious Korean universities,”

Rubén Tang Head of the Asia Relations Office

We congratulate our alumnae on this important achievement and wish them great success in this new academic chapter. This recognition strengthens PUCP’s commitment to academic excellence and internationalization, creating more opportunities for its graduates to access postgraduate programs at outstanding institutions around the world.
